Ultra Record’s DJ Ricardo! Out Anthems 8 Dance-Mix-Masterpiece

DJ Ricardo! has long been mixing, compiling and conceptualizing the Out Anthems series for Ultra Records. It seems that with each record DJ Ricardo! becomes more adept in the mixing and conceptualizing process even exceeding himself at times. Out Anthems 8 is the epitome of what a gay-themed dance record ‘should’ be. Many DJs/Remixers/Producers attempt to pull off today what DJ Ricardo! has been doing for many years but it’s clear that Ricardo transcends even his greatest competition.

Like a progressing rock song we’re eased into this compilation with Deadmau5’s “The Veldt” featuring Chris James on vocals; a beautiful track characteristic of a dream pop melody but with a dance beat. Serge Devant, who’s been featured on several Out Anthems, is featured twice on this compilation with his singles “You and Me” and “True Faith.” One major highlight of this compilation is the incredible choice DJ Ricardo! made by putting WhiteNoize remixes on here of Loleatta Holloway and First Choice singles; you’ll definitely want to check these out. There are several stellar dance singles on this compilation but the two that standout the greatest are Dada Life’s remix of Kaskade’s “Llove” and Peter Wade’s remix of MNDR’s “Feed Me Diamonds.” Peter Wade’s mixes usually feature almost a tribal like quality with hard-pounding drum beats and Dada Life’s immensely popular electro house compliment a near perfect compilation marvelously.

If you plan to endlessly scour the internet for a dance mix for the gym, a summer dance mix, a mix for a party or even a mix for laying by the pool look no further, Out Anthems 8 is it.
