Shmu’s most recent EP, Chroma Key, features very heavily synthesized songs similar to shoegaze and early 00’s experimental indie rock. The synthesizers sound like they skip, as if the CD has a huge scratch on it. In the background, you can barely here Shmu singing the title of the song, “She’s Leaving”. For some reason, this song works well despite it’s very abstract style and inaccessible song structure.
