“It is an infantile superstition of the human spirit that virginity would be thought a virtue and not the barrier that separates ignorance from knowledge.” – Voltaire
From the press release:
George Michael has released the video for his new single “Let Her Down Easy,” which was written and originally performed by Terence Trent D’Arby. The video is directed by Vaughan Arnell, one of Britain’s foremost and most innovative music video directors, whose credits include George’s iconic video for “Outside” in 1998, plus videos for Robbie Williams, The Spice Girls and One Direction amongst others.
My take:
I believe that George Michael has once again proven his power in his latest track. With haunting and sparse piano, thought-provoking lyrics, and his trademark emotional vocals, he stirs you with a message about the loss of innocense. Youth is a beautiful and fragile aspect of our lives. We have to cherish every facet of growing up, because once we’re older we will wish that we had that time again. Let her Down Easy is a gorgeous reminder to take things slow and cherish every moment.
Symphonica is out soon.
