    Kate Bush Announces First Tour Since 1979

    After a 35-year hiatus from the stage, Kate Bush announced this past Friday that she will be performing 15 shows this Summer at London’s Hammersmith Apollo. Tickets for the show, titled Before the Dawn, go on sale this coming Friday. Kate’s first and last, titled The Tour of Life, was acclaimed for its incorporation of mime, magic, and readings during costume changes. The tour is also renowned for its use of new technology; because of Bush’s determination to dance as she sang, her engineers rigged a wireless headset microphone using a wire clothes hanger, making her the first singer to use such a device on stage.

    In an official statement from her website, Kate said:

    I am delighted to announce that we will be performing some live shows this coming August and September. I hope you will be able to join us and I look forward to seeing you there.We’ll keep you updated with further news on the web site. Meanwhile, all details of concert dates and tickets are in the note below.
