What a beautiful song, a pictorial tour for the ears. Amazing song, amazing video. Truly this is a well-tempered continent. The interweaving and subtle chord changes calls to mind J.S. Bach’s Well-Tempered Clavichord compositions. A very beautifully quiet song, “On Leaving…” conjures up ideas of image and reality, truth and fiction. This is truly an evocative song. Try to listen without image the countryside and its many different yet similar features. Well-Tempered indeed.
