Anyone here remember Julie Brown’s “The Homecoming Queen’s Got A Gun”? Or Valley Girl with Nicolas Cage and Deborah Foreman? Jess Penner certainly hasn’t. “Good Times” sounds like it came from the soundtrack of Valley Girl, and that is a complement. This is the song of the summer. I missed the 80’s, the hair, the clothes, the music, especially the music. Pop music today is (or at least was) blah. Along comes Penner. Thanks Jess. Keep on producing great songs like “Good Times”. This is the perfect cure for those sad blues. Smile.
