    Interview With Secret Club
AudioFuzz sat down and talked with Secret Club recently, and we received a lot of answers that were very funny and surprising.  Raises my love for this band even higher.  Please read about them, listen to their music, and get behind them.  They are the bestest (as Lana would say).
Q: Here is the question all bands get asked:  Where did you all meet and how long have you been playing?
A: (N) It was about a year and a half ago. I was married with three daughters. Unfortunately, my wife died in a terrible accident. Luckily for me, Angela and AJ moved into my house to help raise my girls. We have a dog. We deal with an annoying neighbor. AJ and Angela eventually started hosting a radio show together.
Q: Who are your main influences?  Am I crazy, or did you guys listen to the Dandy Warhols and the Ramones?  I am a huge fan of yours.
A: (N) I’ve told people we sound like The Ramones having sex with The Vines.
Q: Obviously, you love what you do?  Do you have any message or are you having fun, or both?  I know, lame question.
A: (N) We don’t really have a message, unless you consider “drink Miller Lite” an important flag to wave.
Q: You guys sound like your playing live on your recordings.  What do you enjoy better; live or studio work?  and how do you get such a live sound in the studio?  It really works well.
A: (N) We probably prefer playing live. The studio is great, but we’re also really impatient and busy people, which doesn’t lend itself to studio work. As far as the live sound of the recordings, a lot of that credit goes to our producer Tres and engineer Joe. We also didn’t record to a click track, because click tracks are for pussies. That helps the songs breathe a little bit.
Q: How do you guys tour; bus, car, airplane, train?  I myself would have to go by any way but airplane.  Do you ever get to see the cities you tour in?
A: (N) We take my 2009 Dodge Caliber everywhere. We mooch off of other people’s drums and bass rigs anywhere we go because my 2009 Dodge Caliber can only fit so much. Thus far we haven’t felt the need to explore any cities outside of Nashville where we’ve played, mainly because all of us individually have previously experienced everything Columbus has to offer.
Q: when are you playing Pittsburgh?  I would love to see you live.
A: (N) I don’t know if my 2009 Dodge Caliber can handle that kind of trip. It might void my warranty.
Q: If you could be an animal or a plant (extinct or living) what would you be?
A: (N) A Venus flytrap, because then I’d know Rick Moranis on like a blood level.
