    “Hermits On Holiday”

    Hermits On Holiday

Let me start by quoting the band description from the band itself:

Cate, born in West Wales, raised under the shadow of a woolen mill, dressed by the field and by the rain.

Tim, from San Francisco, grew under and over the bridges and streets, combed by corners and by concrete.

After that, there is not much to say except:  This is the best CD (with Stolen Jars) of the year (ok, I couldn’t wait until next week).  This is also the oddest CD I’ve heard since Neutral Milk Hotel or Eno’s Taking Tiger Mountain (By Strategy).  This is the perfect CD for me; almost no wave with much more control.  The noises are actually musical.  You might think I’m exaggerating (people say I do that sometime), but this is the most interesting music I’ve heard for a long time.  I really doubt any other band in the world sounds like DRINKS, and I’m glad.  This is also on constant replay for me.  Their CD comes out the August 21st.  Get it, or I will label you a ‘hipster’, and you don’t want that.  Thank you so much, Tim and Cate, for sharing your world with us.  (By the way, “Do I Like That Dog?” might be my favorite song of all time.
