    “Kill The Monster”

    Lamb

Wow, another singer who is not afraid to belt out a tune.  Nadia Kazmi has a voice that can stun you, and that’s a good thing.  This is someone who has listened to her Cohen, Mitchell, Smith (Patti of course), and PJ and walked away with a punk attitude and a poet’s heart.  Nothing better than the combination she shows on “Kill The Monster”.  After hearing this song, I’m just a bit wary of being Kazmi’s friend in case the monster burst through.  Oh, and if you think this is the only song Kazmi has in her, your wrong.  The whole EP, Lamb, is extremely well crafted and emotional.  This is the young woman from whom, with her second album, we were treated to her interpretations of Cohen.  Anyone who has the balls to do that, and more, actually succeeds, is worthy of my respect.  Kazmi has that and my fanship.  She is that good.
