Bela Takes Chase, based in London, makes music that best can be described as dark electronic pop really unlike much of what’s out there now. Bela Takes Chase has a voice that reminds this writer (you know who I am, loyal readers) of Kerli or Lykke Li. Her sound is very accessible, yet is very original. I really like her. Bela Takes Chase has a very world, European sound, but her type of dark pop would be perfect to shake up the complacency of American/British pop. Her music actually glistens in a dark way, if that is possible. Bela Takes Chase built up her audience through Facebook and other social media. The reason I site this is that Bela Takes Chase is making it on her own talent, not some music machine, and I super admire that. Independent, dark, beautiful, what’s not to love!
