    “Black Dog Blues”

Someone asked me, “do you like the blues?”  Damn yeah, I LOVE THE BLUES, and Bette Stuy sings the blues better than anyone I’ve ever heard since Janis Joplin, Big Mama Thornton, and Nina Simone.  Oh my god, I will go to the river and let myself go.  All the pain, all the sorrow, all the disappointments are all there.  When Stuy sings, “That Black Dog of mine is gone away”, I can feel her pain.  Her tenor voice is so perfect over the Buddy Guy/B.B.King rifts.  This is great blues.  Bessie Smith would be so impressed.  And with her Shaka Khan hair, Stuy has won my heart.  I will be her Black Dog.
