    “Keeping Me High”

    Summer of Pain

There is NO ONE out there like Jimmy Whispers.  He is strange, he is almost creepy, he is super intimate, he wants you to be part of his world.  There’s a delirious edge to Jimmy Whispers’ iPhone-recorded bedroom pop that comes to the fore in his new video for ‘Keeping Me High’. The clip, which premiered on DIY, sees Whispers thrashing and straining under the emotional weight of his anguish. It’s a track that revels in that raw-as-you-like intimacy.  The immediacy of his work is unbelievable, similar to Kimya Dawson.  I think I found my new hero.  He has that honesty I want.
