Combine the piano playing of Ben Folds with the vocal harmonies of Mumford & Sons and the electronic flow of Yan Tiersen, and you get Sabbatical Year. This is a very beautiful, quiet yet intense song, propelled by the keyboards and the beautiful vocals that just flow over like a cold mountain spring. The Atlanta-based group introduces electronic soundscapes to their “luscious layers of captivating and heartfelt rock” (Caesar Live N Loud). This is a great description, and I wish I had said first. Sabbatical Year is a band to be on the watch for.
