    “Lost Girls”

    Heartache City

The sisters have done it again.  They have released a new tremendously beautiful song that addresses the problems of women around the world.  If you have never had the pleasure of hearing CocoRosie, you are in for a treat.  Sisters Bianca and Sierra combine their completely different types of voices (Sierra actually studied opera) to create weird aural landscapes telling personal stories and/or touching on subjects that affect them deeply, like the treatment of women around the world.  The only instrumentation are keyboards, flutes, harp, and the great Tez on beatbox.  Seeing them live is always an experience, because they are not a band that keeps that distance between them and their fans.  They are serious musicians, but they have fun with their music.  And their new album was released independently.  CocoRosie is a band you have to check out.  They might be the most original band out there.  I love them so much.  (I saw them live, and Bianca stepped on my hand, LOL).
