Anybody like a little psychedelia for the summer?  I know do.  Those late nights when it’s too hot to sleep, listen to these guys.  Made up of Ash Reiter- vocals/guitar; Will Halsey- vocals/drums; Bryant Denison- guitar; and Peter Maffei – Bass, Sugar Candy Mountain, from Oakland, have a sound all their own.  As they say on their Facebook page:

If Brian Wilson had dropped acid on the beach in Brazil and decided to record an album with Os Mutantes and The Flaming Lips, it would sound like this.

That is so true.  I actually think that Sugar Candy Mountain is channeling the tapes that Brian Wilson burned.  The vocals, the music, the words:  everything comes together.  I love them.  Come to Pittsburgh.  Oh, sideline, Ash Reiter founded the Hickey Fest, which is the greatest name for a festival ever.
