This band that something which the French call “I don’t know what”.  Actually, I do know what they have: talent, charisma, looks, great hooks, great vocals and harmonies.  They remind me of early Duran Duran, which is a great sound to go for.  Though, through all that, they are originals.  In fact, think of Duran Duran and Wu-Tang Clan had a child.  Great band.  Faulkner is a bicoastal band from NYC & Venice with members Lucas Asher, Eric Scullin, Dimitri Farougias & Christian Hogan.  The fact that they come from both NYC and Venice, CA has definitely helped shape the bands’ sound.  I had to quote the band themselves on this one, because I couldn’t have said it better.

“We have a clear vision and consistent theme,” bassist Dimitri Farougias explains.“Perhaps this vision developed because the band “organically came together as friends,” says drummer Christian Hogan. “the musical chemistry between co-producer and member Eric Scullin establishes an undeniable chemistry. All Faulkner members are hands on with all sides of the creative presentation, they direct their own music videos (In monochrome) and have a vision for the images and theme as an extension of the music storyline. “Ideas are all we care about. Good ones and bad ones,” Says Asher, “One of my biggest influences is Lou Reed and he said “you may be drawing a circle for the thousandth time, but maybe it’s a slightly better circle.”

With Lou and Wu-Tang Clan as influences with the Duran Duran sub-plot, this is a band going places.
