WOW!!!  R&B done right.  What a great sound The Nightowls have.  It reminds me of The Eurythmics, “Would I Lie To You”.  The Nightowls are no retro band, trying to sound like Jackie Wilson or Al Green.  These guys are sounding just like themselves.  Based in Austin, The Nightowls have all the hooks down, and the best thing, it sounds natural, not imitative.  The band is comprised of Ryan Harkrider, Ellie Carroll, Tara Williamson, Sara Stein, Rob Alton, Amos Traystman, Ben Petree, Javier Stuppard, Michael Rey, Andrew McLemore, Nate Villegas, and Andrew Schindler.  I can’t impress upon you the greatness of the band.  They would fit perfect on Motown’s artist list in the ’60s and ’70s, playing a show with Smoky or the Supremes.  Life they are supposed to be killer.  I can’t wait for them to play Pittsburgh.
