    Kvinnor Och Barn

Frida Hyvonen has finally released her new album, all in Swedish.  This is beautiful, classic Hyvonen, which means very beautiful vocals, simple sounding, yet perfect piano playing, and emotion plus.  The video for her new song is so Frida.  In it, there is a portrait on the wall, seemingly Italian Renaissance, maybe Rafael, maybe Ghirlandaio, maybe Donatello, a portrait of a noble.  All of a sudden, Frida comes in singing to the portrait in her exaggerated, Ophelia-like way.  Although I don’t know Swedish, you get the feeling she is telling the man that he is just a portrait and she needs more than that.  What a tremendous song.  It reminds me of “Birds” or “December” or “Dirty Dancing”.  Listed below are the translated lyrics, a song which is described as “”a brutal song about a capable woman’s relationship dilemma and love”:

    Sure, I am grateful
    that anyone shows interest
Know that all culture and the whole
    scheme expect it
, you want to be near me
    Tilt your head toward me
    catch the rays from me
    I can not blame

    But the question is
    can you impress me
    Can you impress me
    the question is
    can you impress me
    Can you impress me
    Can you impress me
    Can you impress me
    the question is
    can you impress me
    Can you impress me

    You think it’s great
with a woman who can all
    play, sing, change tires,
    think freely and cook dumplings
You think I’m happy and satisfied with
    getting rip hardest
My desire is to put me
in a warm embrace and cared

    But the question is
Fixes you to take care of myself
    without feeling sorry for yourself
fixes you to take care of myself
    without feeling sorry for yourself
    question is
Fixes you to take care of myself
    without becoming subservient
fixes you to take care of me
    without becoming subservient

I see you, you try to
    live up to my level
Like an obedient and brave soldier
    you stretch on tiptoe
You try to speak my language
You trying to crack my code
    know what, it may not
know, I’ll give you a clue

    Can not impress me
    by just right on you
so you may take and wife on you
when you have nothing to do here

For you will annoy you on that,
    how terribly capable I am
After a while, you try to get me
to make me less than I am
    My capacity is merciless
against those who do not answer up
, we have seen it claim victims
, we have seen scare adult men

I swear I’ve seen it happen a thousand times
I swear she has seen it happen a thousand times
, I promise you’ve seen it happen a thousand times
Now we sing about it in our songs
