    “Í Tokuni”

    Slør

The most haunting voice I have ever heard, Eivor Palsdottir is a singer/songwriter born and raised in the Faroe Islands.  Most of her music is song in either Faroese or Icelandic with some English songs thrown in.  According to her biography, “Slør is her most beat oriented effort to date without completely forgoing the folk sensibilities of recent efforts. The albums are produced by Tróndur Bogason with beat production by Høgni Lisberg and are recorded at Studio Bloch in Tórshavn, Faroe Islands.”  Although Eivor is now based in Denmark, the beauty and isolation of the Faroe Islands are always audible in all her music.  On stage, she seems like something fae that was transplanted onto earth to spread magic.  That she does.  Eivor is one of the most interesting, accomplished, and beautiful in all senses musician I have heard in a long.  Listen to her, watch her, get transplanted back to a former age of magic and wonder.
