Imagine, if you will, Mazzy Star with three part harmonies. Sounds impossible. No, listen to Lunch Ladies. These dream pop upstarts from Central New Jersey (what is in the water there anyway) have done. Consisting of Matt Whitley (vox, guitar), Cynthia Rittenbach (vox, bass), Matt Ramiz (vox, guitar) and Peter Gargano (drums), Lunch Ladies have evoked music that is both sad and atmospheric. Rittenbach’s voice in an amazing instrument. This is music for the evening. According to Impose Magazine:
“Set this as a backdrop for gorgeously whimsical vocal highs and it plays like the soundtrack to some otherworldly carousel, the feature attraction at a circus in the clouds.”
This is amazing music from an amazing band. Be prepared for them to drop more singles before the April release of their album. And if possible, see them live.
