Anthony Hall was like many young African American males who grew up on the Southside of Chicago in Englewood. Murders happened sporadically even back then but not enough to stop him and his friends from setting up crates in the alley to shoot hoops. By the time he had reached high school he was a highly recruited shooting guard for the Dunbar Mightymen who reached the Elite Four his junior year.

In an environment where gang affiliations and the temptation of fast money in the streets served as a distraction for many, his saving grace was a passion for music that started in the sixth grade. In his freshman year of high school he would often skip classes while another student would beat on the table while he rapped to the other truants. Getting more serious about music and with the resignation of his high school coach he gave up basketball his senior year and began pursuing a music career.

In the early days he would go to Ford City Mall and record over industry beats at the now defunct Rap Factory. Tiring of doing cover songs he started meeting with local producers such as former Terror Squad affiliate Mush Millions who had placements for industry heavyweights such as Fat Joe and Maino. With his newfound musical connections, a chance meeting with Chris Gotti because of the suggestion of his mentor Godfather would lead to him signing a distribution deal through Add Ventures after performing at a local showcase.

Goaldin Tone has had songs receive radio play on 107.5 and 92.3 such as the Mush Million produced “Billion Dollar Pussy” and the D Brooks banger “Go to Guy”. With a host of other producers he collaborates with such as Ty of the Architects, A-Roc, Trackburners Entertainment, Meesak, Phroze, and Fitf. The label he started called Classic Behavior Ent with his business partner Folarin Olawoye is sure to be a success as fans anxiously await new material and eventually an LP.

In Chicago’s overcrowded rap scene Goaldin Tone stands above the rest due to his versatility. A rare artist who can make conceptual records, is gifted at storytelling, and is authentic. With artists such as Chance the Rapper recently winning a Grammy this will definitely put the spotlight on the City of Chicago and one of the artist to watch is Goaldin Tone.
