Coming from Austin, Texas, The Cuckoos are a great band. I’ve never heard anyone combine The Velvet Underground, The Doors, The 13th Floor Elevator, and the Dandy Warhols in one, and still make it fresh and more fun than ever. Comprised of Kenneth Frost, Dave North, Eric Ross, and Cole Koennin, this band has it all. I love psychedelic rock, and that is what The Cuckoos are all about. According to their bio;
Imagine The Doors, Joy Division, and Rick James writing songs with Tame Impala to begin to get the picture, but be aware, The Cuckoos are carving their own path, hungry to become more than the sum total of the music that has inspired them and to diligently add new elements that will inspire others. Art, after all, should be communal.
This is such perfect music. I love this band. The Cuckoos have made my list of great bands to watch in 2017. Groove to them.
