“Nothin’ Feels Right But Doin’ Wrong”

    Sidelong

WOW.  If Janis Joplin had lived, continued the country route, kept her blues roots, and met Lux Interior, this is what would have happened.  This is totally amazing.  I used to think Social Distortion were the punkest country band out there, but Sarah Shook & the Disarmers are the punkest country band ever.  The band is comprised of Sarah Shook – songwriter, vocals, rhythm guitar;  Eric Peterson – Electric guitar…; John Howie Jr. – Drums;  Aaron Oliva – Upright bass; and Phil Sullivan – Pedal Steel.  (Besides, I am a sucker for upright bass).  Country and punk should both be about drinking, drugs, and being bad, and no one is as bad as Sarah Shook.  This is country that grabs you by the balls.  Probably the best disk I’ve heard so far this year.  YAAHOO!!!!!!
