Storytelling: Jesu/Sun Kil Moon – “You Are Me And I Am You”

“You Are Me And I Am You”

30 Seconds To The Decline Of Planet Earth

The second collaboration between Sun Kil Moon and Jesu is even greater than the first.  There is something so original about Mark Kozelek’s storytelling (it’s so damned confessional and sounds like he is telling these stories to you), and Justin Broadrick just adds that special something to his work.  Broadrick is such a talented, multi-instrumentalist, that he just keeps Kozelek’s stories flowing.  A lot of people don’t understand Kozelek, but I think I do.  He, like his comrade in crime, Father John Misty, he just tells stories.  I have never understood why you need to interview Kozelek:  he hates it and he tells you everything you want to know.  I love this album.  I can’t keep playing this music.  Wow.
