    “I VS I”

    Rare Americans

What a great song.  This is one of my favorite new bands, but “I VS I” really hits you in the stomach; it is so good and identifiable.  Honest to God, do you remember when The Offspring were relevant?  Well, welcome to Rare Americans.  They have that punk/funk feel, and they have the pulse of American youth, the disenfranchism, the lack of certainty, that feeling of not belonging which has always been the catalyst for great rock and roll, from Little Richard to the Ramones to The Offspring to Rare Americans.  This is the kick in the ass rock needs.  And they aren’t afraid to show emotions and weaknesses.  As their bio says:

Two Canadian Priestner brothers who’d never written a song together until a year ago and a crazy Slovakian guitar virtuoso named Lubo. Go figure.

I love this band.  This is the new savior guys.  Just what we needed.

Below is the lyrics to “I VS I”:

    Lost in a trillion shades
Of grey I’m looking every which way
The path is overgrown and I got a broken phone

Pills red or blue man, what should I do?
I’m just trying to get used to my own shoes

    Navigator, navigator
    Navigator on my own

I vs I vs I vs I (find my way)
I vs I vs I vs I (find my way)
I vs I vs I vs I (find my way)
I vs I vs I vs I (find my way)

Should I get in bed with you?
Should I get in bed with you?

    See hope, love, woe, decay
    See em all every day
    Things you overhear
    Voices, hundred, my ear

Im lookin’ for a direction I can stick to
Im lookin’ for a path just like you

    Navigator, navigator
    Navigator on my own

I vs I vs I vs I (find my way)
I vs I vs I vs I (find my way)
I vs I vs I vs I (find my way)
I vs I vs I vs I (find my way)

Should I get in bed with you?
Should I get in bed with you?

Getting used to my own shoes (I vs I)
I get used to my own shoes (I vs I)
I get used to my own shoes (I vs I)
I get used to my own shoes (I vs I)
