    Remind Me Tomorrow

What a powerful presence Sharon Van Etten has.  As one reviewer stated, “1. the old Sharon can’t come to the phone right now and 2. the new Sharon is a dark queen.”  I love the dark queen Van Etten.  There is a power here that is undeniable.  She can entrance you by a single phrase.  Sharon is super-capably backed up by Doug Keith, Heather Woods Broderick, Otto Hauser, Jon Shaw, Darren Jessee, Zeke Hutchins, all of which help her achieve the greatness this album has produced.  Coming from NYC by way of New Jersey (the only way to go, think Patti Smith), Van Etten is just great.  This is a huge break from her folksy roots, but the lyrics are the same searing bleakness as before.  Van Etten just continues to get better and better.
