Synth Music Done Right: Bantamweight – “Breathless”

Let me tell you:  this scrappy duo are certainly no light weights (or bantam at that).  As their bio says: “Drummer Max Kelly and bass player Keith Shacklett perform a balancing act that consists of multiple synthesizers played in tandem with their primary instruments, making for a unique and unforgettable live show.”  There is an amazing display of beauty and talent.  I’ve been told that their live show is a whirlwind of action, each playing their main instruments and filling in on synths.  Imagine if Neil Peart joined Geddy Lee in playing drums and synths.  That’s what Bantamweight reminds me of.  I love this band.  This is synth rock done exactly right.
