Coming from Italy, Soaware have this uncanny knack of combining progressive Italian rock (think PFM) with the bluster of NIN, and combining them with a post-grunge feeling which actually creates a whole new class of rock: prog-grunge. Only the Italians have always felt so free in their creativity to break all the rules. Soaware, led by Damiano Bessi and Emanuele Grazioli, is an amazing if somewhat disturbing band. As their bio says:
Focusing on sheer emotions rather than life experiences, Soaware draw upon the spirits of 90s grunge and 80s synth pop to create dark atmospheres with electronic rock/metal edges.
