    “Love No More”

    Honestly

What a beautiful, sad, heart-wrenching song.  Haven’t we all been here?  When Lovaas sings,

And I know you can see all of the pain that’s gathered in my eyes when I look at you, when I look at you
But now I realize that all this time you had no heart so you used mine oh you used mine

my heart totally melted.  Lovaas has just sung the words we have all felt at one time or another.  The fact that basically the song is a man and his piano makes it all that poignant.  This is a sad, true song sung be someone whose heart has truly been broken.  Coming from Carlsbad, CA, and mentored by Jason Mraz, Lovaas is an artist to look out for.  Lovaas is the counterpoint of Mitski, he is that good.  Here are the lyrics:

No matter how close you are, no matter what you say
No matter how hard you try, this is the only way
You know it never could be like it was before
No matter how hard you try, I just can’t let you stay

My hands are tied because we can’t get passed the same old problems that we talk about, we keep on talking bout
How you run my heart in circles and you think that I’ll just wait for you to come around, but you won’t come around

And I don’t want your love no more, no more
I don’t want your love no more, no more
Every day I’m hurting more and more
But I don’t want your love no more, no more

No matter how hard I tried to not let you back in
Forgiveness is so easy when you’ve got a lot to give
And you can only take so much before there’s nothing left
And you always want, but you never want to give

And I know you can see all of the pain that’s gathered in my eyes when I look at you, when I look at you
But now I realize that all this time you had no heart so you used mine oh you used mine

And I don’t want your love no more, no more
I don’t want your love no more, no more
Every day I’m hurting more and more
But I don’t want your love no more, no more
