    “Thunder”

    All Things

This is the sound that celestial beings make when they fall in love with the wrong person over and over again.  Odessa has this innocence in her voice that is both sad and beautiful as she laments the bound that draws her back into the whole pattern of bitterness and hurt.  As her bio states:

“Thunder” straddles the line between intimate (owing to her buttery, precise vocals) and expansive (owing to the atmospheric arrangement). You can almost imagine the view that songwriter had from her mountaintop: It’s stunning.

Stunning indeed.  Coming from LA, and recording in various locations but eventually gaining her composer from her home on Eagle Rock, “Thunder” with its grand view is powered by her voice and the strings she arranged and played herself.  This is a love song to the unlovable, an ode to love wrongly focused, and a vow to eventually change.  This is profound and beautiful music.
