Courtney Barnett – “Rae Street” – Things Take Time, Take Time

Courtney has a new album coming out, and, if the single, “Rae Street”, is any indication, she is back to writing her life’s experience in the first person.  I love how Barnett tells stories about the normal experiences she has.  “Rae Street” is just the observation Barnett makes about her neighborhood as she stares out the window from her house.  There is a slight disconnect between her and the neighbors, although she waves to them all.  Her guitar work is simple but compelling.  Barnett is one of the best rhythm guitarist out there, and she is damned great story teller.  The video is tremendous; to me, a neighborhood of all Barnetts seems like heaven.  There is no one out there who tells a story like Barnett; intimate, personal, and completely relatable.
