    Weather Cape – “Alice”

    Cape Weather – “Alice”

Cape Weather, from LA, is a collaboration between Natalie Smith and Eric Jackowitz that just has this beauty to it.  The fuzzy guitar and elegant, simple piano lift Smith’s voice to this point of no return.  The juxtaposition of fuzz guitar and graceful piano affectively maintain a base from Smith’s voice, while the percussion helps propel the song without slowing.  This is lovely dreampop with a slight estrangement from reality, but the final minute is amazing.  As Obscure Sounds states:

“Alice” exudes a magnetic, dreamy quality throughout, the final minute satisfying with the lush keys, rhythmic escalation, and background shimmering.

The is dreampop for a quiet summer evening watching lightning bugs.
