Wet Leg – “Chaise Longue”
Wet Leg is a band from Isle of Wight comprised of Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chambers, and together they make up one of the best and most original bands I’ve heard in years. “Chaise Longue” reminds me of Delta 5’s “Mind Your Own Business” with its tongue-in-cheek lyrics and garage/punk instrumentation. The lyrics are tremendously fun – “I went to school and I got a degree/All my friends call it ‘the big D'” – absolutely perfect. This song is going round and round in my brain. They just got signed to Domino, and I cannot wait to hear what comes next from this duo. Take the ride with me.
