    RATING: 8/10 – GREAT Album

The South Hill Experiment, formed in Los Angeles, features brothers Baird and Gabriel Acheson prominently. Renowned for their contributions to several BROCKHAMPTON albums, the band unveiled its debut album, SUNSTRIKES in May and recently dropped a fresh single titled “Alright, OK.” In this latest track, the band explores a fusion of folk music and a melody reminiscent of popular hits across various genres.

Dive into the kaleidoscopic soundscape of SUNSTRIKES, a mesmerizing exploration into the realms of psychedelic music. From start to finish, the album is a captivating odyssey that transcends traditional boundaries, inviting listeners into a mind-altering experience.

The album seamlessly weaves intricate layers of instrumentation, creating a sonic tapestry that ebbs and flows with hypnotic precision. The use of unconventional time signatures and ethereal sound effects adds a dreamlike quality, immersing the audience in a surreal sonic landscape.

    Check out the album below:

Read what the band stated on their bandcamp:

“SUNSTRIKES came together in the heat of the summer, fervent, sweaty, bright and exploding. We set course for new skies, higher ambitions and higher temperatures. Of course, the South Hill Spirit chased us down. Fortuitous collaborations led to features from Jeff Parker and CARM and the blessed us with the rhythms of Mano and Garry. As temperatures soared into triple digits, we realized there was no shelter from the sun’s swelter. Welcome to album two, our tribute to that glowing orb.”
