Now is the hour, the 1975, the new look

Today marks the debut of “Now Is The Hour,” the latest single from the official soundtrack for “The New Look,” a highly anticipated series soon to premiere on Apple TV+. This track, part of Jack Antonoff’s expertly crafted soundtrack, precedes the series’ release, showcasing an array of covers from iconic early to mid-20th century tunes. Performed by a stellar lineup of artists such as Bleachers, Florence + The Machine, Lana Del Rey, The 1975, Beabadoobee, Nick Cave, Perfume Genius, and others, this soundtrack emerges as the inaugural offering from Shadow Of The City, Antonoff’s fresh imprint under the esteemed independent label, Dirty Hit.

“The New Look” presents a riveting historical drama crafted by Todd A. Kessler, featuring Emmy Award winner Ben Mendelsohn as Christian Dior and Academy Award winner Juliette Binoche as Coco Chanel. Set against the backdrop of World War II Paris, the series delves into the lives of Dior, Chanel, and their contemporaries who played pivotal roles in the birth of modern fashion. With a global premiere of its first three episodes on February 14, 2024, on Apple TV+, the 10-episode series stars an impressive ensemble including Maisie Williams, John Malkovich, Emily Mortimer, Claes Bang, and Glenn Close. Check it out below:

The soundtrack’s tracklist is as follows:

    1. Florence + The Machine – “White Cliffs Of Dover”
    2. The 1975 – “Now Is The Hour”
    3. Lana Del Rey – “Blue Skies”
    4. Perfume Genius – “What A Difference A Day Makes”
    5. Nick Cave – “La Vie En Rose”
    6. Beabadoobee – “It’s Only A Paper Moon”
    7. Joy Oladokun – “I Wished On The Moon”
    8. Bartees Strange – “You Always Hurt The One You Love”
    9. Sam Dew – “I Cover The Waterfront”
    10. Bleachers – “Almost Like Being In Love”

Jack Antonoff, a world-renowned figure with ten Grammy Awards, has significantly influenced pop music with his band Bleachers and collaborations with artists such as Taylor Swift, Lana Del Rey, The 1975, Diana Ross, Lorde, St. Vincent, Florence + The Machine, Kevin Abstract, and more. Recognized for redefining the pop genre, Antonoff’s upcoming fourth studio album with Bleachers, featuring singles “Modern Girl,” “Alma Mater,” and “Tiny Moves,” is set for release on March 8th through Dirty Hit.
