In a deeply moving performance on “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” last night, Killer Mike delivered “Exit 9,” concluding with a powerful acapella verse that highlighted the exceptional vocal skills of his backing group, The Midnight Revival. The performance, currently making waves on Instagram, followed Mike’s appearance on “The View” where he discussed his recent triumph at the Grammys, clinching awards in all three key rap categories: Best Rap Album for “MICHAEL,” and both Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance for “SCIENTISTS & ENGINEERS (ft. Future, André 3000, and Eryn Allen Kane).”

Since the Grammy accolades, “MICHAEL” has seen a dramatic surge in streaming on digital platforms, with a 700% increase, particularly among younger audiences. This recognition caps off a year filled with accolades, including two BET Awards nominations for “SCIENTISTS & ENGINEERS,” and high praise from the New York Times, Billboard, Esquire, among others, alongside appearances on prominent shows like “The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon,” “Kelly Clarkson,” “The Shop: Uninterrupted,” and more. Released on June 16, 2023, by Loma Vista Recordings and executive produced by No ID, “MICHAEL” features a diverse lineup of artists across various rap generations, such as Andre 3000, Future, and Young Thug. The album tells the autobiographical tale of Michael Render’s rise in Atlanta, offering a heartfelt narrative of endurance, duty, and community engagement.
