Packing edge and desire in a dreamy and nostalgic package, Abbey Lane’s EP ‘Afterthoughts’ releases on June 12. This concise 6-track EP offers a seamless, smooth dose of indie pop-rock.

‘Afterthoughts’ lives up to its name, reflecting on relationships and unspoken thoughts through a musical journey that balances nostalgic rock guitar edge with the hazy allure of indie vocals. Abbey’s expert guitar work and versatile, dreamy yet powerful vocals make each track feel both familiar and captivating.

With 12 years of experience and collaborations with writers like Sycco, Yung Bleu, and Tenille Arts, Abbey Lane’s expertise shines through in the cohesive flow of the songs. Reflecting on the EP, Abbey Lane shares:

“‘Afterthoughts’ amalgamates various perspectives on relationships, focusing on unspoken sentiments and reflecting on relationships in hindsight.”

The EP opens with ‘My Mistake (Again)’, a dreamy track featuring summery guitar and warm, bold drums. Abbey Lane’s sweet yet powerful vocals explore the ease of returning to a flawed relationship.

‘Shot in the Dark’ continues with soft indie charm and a catchy pop beat. Bouncy backing tracks and tender vocals navigate the challenges of giving a seemingly doomed relationship a chance.

‘Constellations’ follows, blending wistful guitar, romantic lyrics, and a bold amp edge to tell the story of saying goodbye to a lingering love.

‘Darling’ showcases a softer side with gentle acoustic guitar and subtle heartbeat drums, exploring the fears and joys of falling in love.

‘Stuck in this Moment’ starts with slow acoustic guitar and electronic drums, evolving into a fast-paced, passionate reflection on the good times in a relationship.

The EP concludes with ‘State of Mind’, an addictive dose of indie rock. Emotion-packed vocals and intense bursts of guitar and drums capture the transition from lovers to barely acquaintances.
