Swim Surreal proudly unveils their highly anticipated debut album, In The Half Light, released today on Make Records. This captivating debut, co-written and produced by Zero 7, spans nine mesmerizing tracks, showcasing the band’s unique blend of dream pop and shoegaze influences.

The album features the standout singles “The Crowd,” “Bloom,” and the emotional core of the album, “Don’t Call It Love.” The latter is accompanied by a visually stunning video directed by Lauren Luxenberg, an award-winning Canadian director based in London, recognized as one of Dazed Digital’s top rising female creatives. Her visionary direction perfectly complements the song’s ethereal soundscape, enhancing its dreamy and subaqueous atmosphere.

“In The Half Light” transports listeners to another time and place, weaving a tapestry of sound that is both cohesive and varied. Tracks like “Sunset Mirage” set the tone with lush instrumentation and evocative vocals, while “The Crowd” offers a more upbeat tempo, and “Bloom” showcases intricate guitar work and atmospheric synths. The album also features the hypnotic “Exile” and the lush “Masquerade” featuring Lou Stone, adding to the album’s diverse sound palette.

Swim Surreal’s debut effort is a masterclass in creating mood and texture, with production that highlights the delicate interplay between light and shadow. Overall, In The Half Light is a compelling introduction to Swim Surreal’s artistic vision, marking them as a band to watch in the indie music scene
