The Go! Team is celebrating the 20th anniversary of their eclectic debut album, ‘Thunder, Lightning, Strike,’ with a reissue and a fall tour. The reissued LP, set to release on September 13 through Memphis Industries, includes a bonus disc featuring band member Ian Parton’s original CD-R versions of the songs from 2004. These versions will be available on both the CD and vinyl editions. You can listen to the CD-R version of “The Power Is On” and a Cornershop remix of “Everyone’s a V.I.P. to Someone” below.
An exclusive Rough Trade version of the reissue also includes a 7″ vinyl featuring new versions of “Hold Yr Terror Close” by the Pastels and the Orielles. These tracks are the first in a series of remixes commissioned by the Go! Team from artists they love and admire, with more remixes to be released throughout 2024.
The Go! Team’s “Thunder, Lightning, Strike” 20th anniversary tour kicks off on September 26 in Edinburgh, Scotland. Following three more European dates, the band will head to the United States for five shows in Chicago, Boston, New York, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C. La Sécurité will open these shows.
