    Allegra Krieger, came

Allegra Krieger’s eagerly awaited new LP, Art of the Unseen Infinity Machine, is set to drop on September 13th via Double Double Whammy. This release follows her acclaimed 2023 album, I Keep My Feet on the Fragile Plane, which garnered praise from top outlets like The New York Times, Pitchfork, NPR, Stereogum, and more, cementing Krieger’s reputation as “one of the most lyrically insightful songwriters out there” (Rolling Stone). Buzz has been building steadily since the album was highlighted in Rolling Stone’s “Artist You Need To Know” feature in June.

Early singles from the album, including the minimalistic spoken-word track “Into Eternity” and the more expansive “Never Arriving,” have revealed a shift in Krieger’s sonic landscape. Now, she offers another glimpse with the release of “Came,” a song that showcases her evolving artistry.

Much of Art of the Unseen Infinity Machine was crafted alongside drummer William Alexander, bassist Kevin Copeland, and guitarist Jacob Drab. The full band lineup injects a heightened sense of drama into the album’s arrangements, moving away from the more subdued tones of Krieger’s previous work. Listeners can expect noisy interludes, jazz-infused explorations, and dynamic shifts that give Krieger room to showcase her impressive vocal range. This is particularly evident on the powerful climax of “Came,” a standout track that marks one of the most striking moments in Krieger’s discography to date.
