The Cosmic Electrics of MØTRIK, released on November 12, 2021, is a compelling journey into the realms of krautrock, showcasing the band’s dedication to the genre’s hypnotic rhythms and expansive soundscapes. So this isn’t exactly NEW but it’s NEW to us and YOU!

The album MØØN comprises eight tracks, each contributing to a cohesive sonic experience that pays homage to pioneers like Can and Neu! while infusing a modern sensibility.

The opening track, “Silver Twin,” sets the tone with its driving motorik beat and layered instrumentation, inviting listeners into MØTRIK’s meticulously crafted auditory universe.

“Space Elevator,” one of the album’s centerpieces, spans over 14 minutes, allowing the band to explore dynamic shifts and intricate progressions that mirror the improvisational spirit of their live performances.

Another standout, “Stabilize,” extends beyond 13 minutes, building a steady, Neu!-like groove that swells and recedes, creating an immersive listening experience.

The production quality of MØØN is noteworthy, with a clear emphasis on analog warmth and spatial depth, enhancing the album’s retro-futuristic aesthetic.

The band’s lineup—Erik Golts, Lee Ritter, Dave Fulton, and Cord Amato—demonstrates a cohesive interplay, each member contributing to the intricate tapestry of sounds that define the album.

MØØN: The Cosmic Electrics of MØTRIK is available in various formats, including a limited edition double LP on colored vinyl, reflecting the band’s attention to detail and commitment to delivering a comprehensive artistic package.

For enthusiasts of krautrock and experimental music, MØØN offers a contemporary take on classic influences, solidifying MØTRIK’s position within the genre’s modern landscape.
