Acclaimed singer-songwriter-pianist Neal Francis returns with his third studio album, Return To Zero, dropping March 14 via ATO Records. Pre-orders are now open. This is Francis’ first full-length release in over three years and his most ambitious project yet, blending timeless rock ’n’ roll with ’70s-inspired dance grooves, crafted entirely without digital programming to honor his analog roots.
The album kicks off with the power-pop anthem “What’s Left Of Me,” co-written with Nashville songwriter Chris Gelbuda, exploring the struggles of maintaining relationships while touring. The track, inspired by Electric Light Orchestra’s signature blend of classical and pop, is accompanied by a music video available now. Another standout, “Back It Up,” delivers swaggering, over-the-top romantic desperation, with a bold music video directed by Alec Basse.
Francis, hailed by SPIN as “a mesmerizing performer,” will embark on an extensive international tour to celebrate Return To Zero. The first leg begins March 20 in Cleveland, OH, followed by U.S. and Japanese dates, along with festival appearances at Dead Ahead in Mexico (January 9-13), Byron Bay Bluesfest (April 17-20), and New Orleans Jazz Fest (May 2-3), with more dates to be announced.
