Röyksopp, the iconic Norwegian electronic duo of Svein Berge and Torbjørn Bruntland, are back with a thrilling announcement—a brand-new album, True Electric, set to drop on April 11. Following last December’s atmospheric Nebulous Nights – An Ambient Excursion Into Profound Mysteries, this upcoming release promises to crank up the energy and dive deep into the clubbier side of their sound.

Leading the charge is an electrifying rework of their 2005 classic, “What Else Is There?”—now reimagined as “What Else Is There? (True Electric),” featuring none other than Fever Ray and Trentemøller. This fresh take captures the pulse of Röyksopp’s dynamic live DJ sets, offering a bold new perspective on the beloved track.

But that’s just the beginning. True Electric will feature reimagined versions of some of their most celebrated songs, including fan-favorite collaborations with Robyn like “The Girl and the Robot” and “Monument.” Röyksopp describes the album as a raw, high-energy reflection of their live performances, explaining, “True Electric consists of recordings and renditions, meant to capture the essence of our live shows bearing the same name. The idea was to put an emphasis on the clubbier aspects of our music, as well as returning to our roots within the realms of electronic music.”

Get ready to experience Röyksopp like never before—True Electric is shaping up to be an exhilarating ride through their signature beats and forward-thinking soundscapes.
