After a long, echoing silence since 2021, Wavves is crashing back into the spotlight—and they’re bringing the heat. This month already saw the band launch their own cannabis brand, Wavvy Supply Co., and ignite a packed benefit show at Zebulon in support of L.A. County wildfire relief. But that was just the prelude.

Now, Wavves is officially back in full force with the announcement of their blistering new album Spun, a coast-to-coast North American headline tour, and a brand-new single, “Goner,” produced by none other than Travis Barker. The track arrives with a livewire video directed by Brandon Dermer, filmed at the band’s recent Zebulon show. Dermer, who helmed the band’s “That’s On Me” video in 2013, has also worked with heavyweights like Blink-182.

Speaking about the collaboration, frontman Nathan Williams shared:

“I had this song I had been sitting on, always revisited it and tried to record it a bunch of times but it was never just right. Eventually it was giving me PTSD. I was talking to Travis about doing some songs together and when I opened up the vault to him, this one jumped out—so we laid it down and finally we got it right.”

“Goner,” alongside the previously released “So Long,” will appear on Spun, out June 6th via Fat Possum. The album is a return to roots in more ways than one—conceived in the same humble backyard shed where Williams crafted the earliest Wavves records. It’s a raw, charged reflection of the chaos, clarity, and catharsis that’s defined the band’s journey—scrappy, defiant, and deeply honest.

Back in 2010, Wavves dropped King of the Beach, an instant classic that catapulted them from DIY obscurity to indie rock royalty. Fame, chaos, a Primavera meltdown, and a major label detour followed. But Wavves clawed their way back with full creative control—releasing You’re Welcome on their own Ghost Ramp label before linking back with Fat Possum for 2021’s Hideaway.

Now in 2024, Nathan Williams—sharper, more grounded, and still a little stoned—is reuniting with longtime bandmates Stephen Pope, Ross Traver, and Alex Gates for their most electrifying chapter yet. Expect face-melting live shows, sweat-soaked singalongs, and a reborn Wavves ready to rip into 2025.
