Stereolab is officially back. After a 15-year hiatus from the studio, the legendary avant-pop pioneers return with their new album Instant Holograms on Metal Film, dropping May 23 via Duophonic UHF Disks / Warp Records.

The 13-track album features guest contributions from Cooper Crain, Rob Frye, Ben LaMar Gay, and more. To kick things off, they’ve released the hypnotic first single “Aerial Troubles”, alongside a kaleidoscopic music video directed by Laurent Askienazy.

In true Stereolab fashion, the album’s rollout has been filled with cryptic teasers—mysterious 7” vinyl singles mailed to fans, city posters with wordsearch puzzles, and a slowly revealed album cover on their site. The buzz is real: Stereolab’s return isn’t just nostalgic—it’s thrillingly inventive.

The band will launch a world tour on May 25 in Brussels, with dates across Europe, North America, and the UK, including a newly announced London show at Brixton Electric on December 14.

Pre-save the album, stream “Aerial Troubles,” and grab tickets while you can—Stereolab is back, and sharper than ever.
