Thom Yorke and Mark Pritchard have unveiled a haunting new single, “Gangsters,” the latest glimpse into their collaborative album Tall Tales, arriving May 9 via Warp Records. The track, which premiered on BBC Radio 6, features Yorke’s eerily pitch-shifted vocals floating over Pritchard’s futuristic synthscapes—paired with another visually stunning, surreal video by artist Jonathan Zawada.
Tall Tales is more than just an album—it’s a fully immersive visual and sonic experience. The duo will premiere the record with a global cinema event on May 8, where fans will witness the album’s accompanying film before its official release. Directed, animated, and edited by Zawada (whose work includes Flume, Coachella, and The Avalanches), the film fuses dystopian landscapes, digital textures, and natural beauty to reflect on progress and collapse.
Following previously released singles “Back In The Game” and “This Conversation Is Missing Your Voice,” Tall Tales continues to build anticipation as a prophetic, genre-defying project years in the making.
The album will be available on digital, CD, and deluxe vinyl formats, with special editions including a 36-page booklet of visuals and lyrics. Select attendees at the film screening will also receive an exclusive Tall Tales zine curated by Zawada.
