King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard are about to defy expectations once again. The ever-evolving psych-rock juggernaut has revealed a release date for their next ambitious chapter: Phantom Island, a sweeping orchestral album landing June 13 via their own (P)Doom Records.

Birthed during the Flight B741 sessions, Phantom Island reimagines the band’s sonic universe with the full force of the Los Angeles Philharmonic. The record’s latest taste, “Deadstick,” arrives with a hypnotic video directed by Guy Tyzack—offering a cinematic glimpse into Gizz’s lushest, most transportive project to date.

To bring the orchestral vision to life on stage, the band will launch a U.S. tour featuring special performances alongside conductor Sarah Hicks and a rotating lineup of local orchestras, while still keeping a few gritty rock sets in the mix for longtime fans.

Whether symphonic or scuzzy, King Gizzard proves once again: no genre is out of reach, and no island is too phantom to explore.
