Deerhoof Debut “Return of the Return of the Fire Trick Star” Video Ahead of 20th Album & Tour Dates!

Tomorrow, Deerhoof unleash their 20th album Noble and Godlike in Ruin via Joyful Noise, and right now you can dive into its final preview, “Return of the Return of the Fire Trick Star,” with an eerie video by Nespy 5euro and a FLAUNT Q&A. This twisted labyrinth of playful bass and stabbing strings is the perfect capstone to a campaign that’s already yielded the slam-poetic “Under Rats” (ft. Saul Williams), punk-fury “Immigrant Songs,” and the double B-side “Sparrow Sparrow”/“Overrated Species Anyhow.” Critics from MOJO to Uncut are hailing their kaleidoscopic vision and indomitable spirit—three decades in, and Deerhoof still have no equal.

They’ve also added eight new headlining dates—don’t miss their Chicago debut at Chop Shop on September 26. Their spring U.S. run kicks off May 1 at Minneapolis’ Walker Arts Center before heading overseas for UK & Europe shows from July 23. Tickets are on sale now.
