Far Caspian Returns with Evocative New Single Ahead of Forthcoming Album Autofiction

Irish indie dreamweaver Far Caspian (Joel Johnston) unveils his stunning new single “An Outstretched Hand / Rain From Here To Kerry,” a lush, emotionally-charged track taken from his anticipated third album Autofiction, out July 25th on Tiny Library Records. Marrying airy guitar work with pulsing percussion, the track bridges the intimacy of a love song with a vivid memory of a windswept road trip through Ireland.

Shot and directed by Johnston himself, the accompanying video deepens the personal storytelling at the heart of Autofiction—his most diaristic and experimental work to date. The new single follows the radiant “First Day,” and hints at the full spectrum of sonic textures and emotional depth the album promises.

Self-produced, recorded, and mixed entirely by Johnston in his Leeds studio, Autofiction marks a creative rebirth for the Far Caspian project. Leaning into spontaneity, Johnston allowed the music to guide him, drawing influence from Broken Social Scene, Supercar, and his own instinct for shimmering alt-pop.

To celebrate the release, Far Caspian will hit the road for an expansive UK, EU, and North American headline tour this fall, including highly anticipated stops at Brooklyn’s Music Hall of Williamsburg on October 4 and LA’s Echoplex on October 17. Check it out below:
