LA-born Chicana singer, producer, and underground icon Avalon is ready to take center stage with her fiercely awaited debut EP, permanent californian, landing July 18 on KRO Records. More than just a project—it’s an audacious art-pop manifesto, steeped in west coast noir, glam decay, and post-pop myth-making.

Leading the charge is the sultry and stormy new single “scream,” a hypnotic slow-burn anthem wrapped in gritty guitars and soaked in existential dread. “This song is about the pressure to perform,” Avalon says. “It’s about the person beneath the persona begging to be heard.” Her haunting lyric—“scream, no one can hear you”—echoes with razor-sharp clarity in the track’s stunning black-and-white visual, directed by Andrea Riba. Inspired by Persona, Jungian duality, and David Lynch’s ghostly LA, the video casts two Avalons in a brutal psychological dance of survival.

Avalon’s first single, “Harder To Reach Than God”, premiered earlier this year with a bold, seductive video and a glitter-drenched remix from The Hellp. Co-produced with Grammy-nominated Chris Greatti (Yves Tumor, Willow), the song set the tone for a project that blends raw emotion with hyper-stylized edge.

permanent californian pulses with Avalon’s distinct cultural duality—rooted in her Mexican heritage, shaped by an Orange County upbringing, and delivered through a lens of downtown LA futurism. This is anti-pop built on feeling, mood, and cinematic grit. Think Candy Darling on the 405 at golden hour, think indie sleaze reimagined with heart and heat.

Already a celebrated DJ and tastemaker, Avalon isn’t just releasing an EP—she’s carving out a whole new lane. This is the sound of 2025’s underground ascending.
